Happy summer, animal lovers! It might even be time to make room for a new pet -- not only for the sheer bliss of a furry companion but also to rescue an animal.
Recently, Los Angeles animal shelters have declared extreme overcrowding in shelters, as they reach maximum capacity. According to NBC Channel 4 local news, the capacity meter has hit “extreme,” as displayed in the image below. The supply of dogs, specifically, greatly outweighs the demand, per se. In order to quell this dilemma, many shelters have offered to reduce adoption fees on June 18 and June 19 (in just two days!) for both dogs and cats.

Taking care of an animal is a significant time commitment that requires patience, dedication, and care. For the Angelinos who feel ready to undertake this responsibility, adopting or fostering is the answer. Both the shelters and the vulnerable animals need support.
Now more than ever can your help make a difference. Please consider adopting or fostering to save a life this summer.
